ABOUT
Virginia is a classical artist who paints in a variety of mediums. She completed a year’s training in portraiture and life drawing at Charles Cecil Studios in Florence before earning her BFA at Parsons School of Design in New York.
Her large botanical works are painted predominantly in watercolour, with each piece varying in scale. Subjects range from a two-metre hemp plant to tiny 10 cm miniatures of wildflowers, all of which are painted in her studio in East Yorkshire.
Virginia paints in both oil and watercolour and accepts commissions for botanical works as well as animal portraits. If you would like to discuss a commission, do not hesitate to contact her via email. Links to Virginia’s Instagram and email can be found at the bottom of each page.
Virginia’s painting Max on the Technicolour Sofa was longlisted for the Jackson’s Open Painting Prize in 2019, and Pepsi on the Technicolour Sofa was shortlisted for the same prize in 2020.
